Shorter OR Time
… through natural spatial perception enabling efficient surgery outcomes. 1
The natural 3D vision improves laparoscopic skill and allows laparoscopy to be performed much more precisely.
ENDOEYE 3D delivers 3D depth perception with high-definition that enables quicker learning of laparoscopy surgery and improves the quality of care as perceived by the surgeons.
3D enables efficient operations of the surgery due to shorter OR time and better usability.
Check out our video in which numerous luminaries of laparoscopic surgery explain the advantages of 3D.
Olympus ENDOEYE 3D is designed to provide a subtle 3D perception so that surgeons can perform operations without any stress. With our enhanced 3D imaging system we have successfully developed a natural 3D perception of distances within narrow cavities as well as a high depth of field for clearer images. Early tests are showing that operators felt comfortable in viewing without having to get accustomed to it.
Most surgical procedures for pathologies of the lower gastrointestinal tract, such as colon cancer or inflammatory diseases, can be treated through a surgical minimally invasive laparoscopic approach, conferring a number of benefits such as a superior cosmetic result and reduced pain.
For minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, high-quality imaging is crucial for clear visualization of the surgical field during the procedure.
Olympus imaging systems provide optimal visibility. The new Olympus 3D VISERA ELITE III system with 30° image rotation enables the most natural 3D perception and the most realistic vision, even in the narrow area of deep rectum. With the VISERA ELITE III platform, Olympus offers the combination of the high-level 3D ENDOEYE as well as the camera head solution with IR (infrared fluorescence imaging) visualization for easier detection of the perfusion and anastomosis during a colon resection.

The laparoscopic minimally invasive approach in the field of hepatic surgery has gained a specific place in daily practice. All types of laparoscopic liver surgery and laparoscopic resections of the liver are supported by Olympus equipment.
Olympus can offer surgeons the best solution to provide the best outcome for the patient. The new Olympus 3D system with 30° image rotation enables the most natural 3D imaging and the most realistic views, allowing surgeons to perform sutures and grasp the dedicated hepatic structures with the highest precision and safety.

There are a variety of indications for a surgical intervention in gynecology. Most of them, if there is a malignant or benign indication, can be treated through a surgical minimally invasive laparoscopic approach.
Olympus provides gynecologists with a vast variety of innovative minimally invasive solutions and enables high-quality visualization of the operating field.

In the case of malignant diseases on the kidney such as renal cancer either a radical or partial nephrectomy is performed. This can be either performed using an open-surgery or a laparoscopic approach. However, laparoscopic radical nephrectomy has been shown to result in lower morbidity, improving patient recovery ( 12 ) and laparoscopic partial nephrectomy shows equivalent oncological results with both approaches ( 13,14 ).
